Dressing Up Your Cupcakes

As you probably know, I love great accessories. The perfect pair of shoes or necklace can take any outfit to a whole new level. This fashion rule that I follow is also applicable to food!

Yesterday I saw the cutest cupcake wrappers in Southern Lady magazine. I love how they dress up a basic cupcake and so I decided to make my own.  I made three different cupcake wrappers using green damask, pink houndstooth and pink stripe paper.

Here is a tutorial of the process I followed to make these super cute cupcake accessories!

Materials
Scrapbook paper
Cupcake wrapper template from Southern Lady
Scissors (decorative or regular)
Glue dots or double stick tape

1.  Print the cupcake template on regular copy paper or card stock.  Cut it out using regular scissors.

2.   Use the template to cut the wrapper from your scrapbook paper. I used scalloped edge scissors for the pink cupcake wrappers. I cut large petal shapes in the top arch of the green damask wrapper for a different effect.

3. Connect both edges of the cut scrapbook paper using a glue dot or double sided tape.

4. Place your cupcake inside the wrapper and voila, you are done!

I love how you can use various types of scrapbook paper to customize these cupcake wrappers for different events. I am hosting our small group bible study on Thursday, and I think these cupcake wrappers will be making their debut. I am planning on pairing them with chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes found on Elizabeth Ann's Pinterest page via The Larson Lingo. Thursday can't come soon enough, I have been dying to try those cupcakes!

I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
