What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! This week is flying by, and I am definitely excited for the long weekend. Today I am linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

This Wednesday I am loving the Tiffany Suite at the St Regis in New York City. Does it get any better than a Tiffany themed room in NYC? You can have breakfast at Tiffany's, and stay there too!

I'm loving that Missoni's Target line is so close to launching. Here is what I would love to buy on September 13th.

Cute folders for getting organized

Love these wine boxes for hostess gifts

 I need these rain boots

Beautiful shoes

I am loving Nicole Richie's hair color in this picture...I am thinking about dying my hair this color for fall. What do you think??

I am loving these cute ruffled shorts with a sequin top and blazer

I'm loving this coral and metallic gold manicure

And finally I'm loving this grapes with goat cheese appetizer that my friend served this past weekend...delicious and pretty!

Have a great Wednesday!

Weekend Wrap Up & Giveaway Winner!

Hi loves! I hope you all had a great weekend and a good start to your week. I'm so sorry for the late post, but I wanted to make sure that I had the chance to tell you about the weekend and announce our first giveaway winner! Let's start with the weekend...

Last week I told you about the bachelorette weekend that we were planning for my soon to be sister in law Melinda. It was such a blast - everything went even better than planned!

A lingerie shower hosted by Katie kicked off our fun filled weekend. We kept the food light with champagne vinaigrette salad, goat cheese and grapes, cherries, fondue, chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry whoopie pies and cupcakes.

Here is a close up of the strawberry whoopie pies that I made. I followed this recipe from Sprinkles Bakes and they were delicious! At the last minute (aka, 5pm when the party started at 7:30pm) I decided to make these cute pink banners for the whoopie pies. I think it adds a little something extra.

We created a fun champagne bar with mango and blood orange juice mixers. Key lime infused water was also served.

The beautiful bride to be arriving!

The next morning we drove down to South Beach, checked into the Gansevoort, and got ready for the rooftop pool party.

We laid out in this cabana which was gorgeous, but I was just excited that I had some shade and didn't have to wear SPF 50 all day!

Later in the day we moved downstairs to a more relaxed pool on the 3rd floor

After laying out we got ready for dinner and took pictures before the Miami humidity hit our hair!

All of the girls in the lobby before dinner. We wore black while the bride wore white.

We had awesome sushi at Bond Street in the Townhouse hotel.

After eating dinner we had drinks at the W

And then we went to Club Louis at the Gansevoort for dancing!

I definitely recommend all of these places if you are planning a weekend in Miami!
We had an awesome time celebrating Melinda.

Now, onto the Anthropologie/Lila Grace giveaway winner...number 8, Ashley from In This Beautiful Life!

Congratulations! Ashley, I will email you :) Thank you SO much to everyone for your participation in our first giveaway. Your sweet comments and support mean the world to me!

Friday's Fancies: Wedding Edition

My wedding themed blogging is continuing today! This week I shared what my dream destination wedding would look like, and today I am linking up with {av}'s Friday's Fancies to create a guest's outfit for that wedding.

My dream destination wedding takes place in the French Riviera, specifically in a small village called Eze that overlook the Mediterranean sea. I fell in love with this cute town several years ago and always thought it would be the perfect place to get married. This wedding guest's look is dressed up but also breezy for a wedding near the water.

1. Thread Social Gown - I love the fabric of this gown and the semi sheer look. The bow sealed the deal for me with this dress! You can rent it from Rent the Runway here
2. Michael Kors nude sandals
3. Yves Saint Laurent cocktail ring
4. Balmain crystal and leather clutch
5. Amrita Singh earrings add a pop of fun color
6. Mystique sandals for late night dancing

Be sure to check out {av} at her beautiful blog Long Distance Loving for the other fabulous wedding looks!

I also wanted to tell you about my group blog date last night! It was SO much fun! I met up with several other South Florida bloggers at Uncle Julio's mexican restaurant in Boca Raton. The food was great, but it didn't hold a candle to these fabulous girls I met. It was so funny though because I was the first to arrive, and I didn't know what anyone looked like but Kara, so I felt like I was waiting for a blind date! Then I saw Magaret and Kirstin walk in and I got the courage to nervously ask them, "are you with the bloggers?". Thank goodness they said yes! I also met Veronica who blogs about Palm Beach Consignment stores - love that concept!

Here is a picture of all of us after dinner - thanks so much ladies for a fun night!!

I hope you have a great Friday and weekend! I will be back on Monday with updates from the bachelorette weekend and to announce a winner of our first giveaway! There is still time to enter, here! The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Anthropologie and a Lila Grace picture frame!

Bachelorette Weekend & Blogger Meet Up!

she had a cocktail in her hand and confetti in her hair
- Kate Spade

I love this quote by Kate Spade and I think it will perfectly describe this weekend...we are having my soon to be sister in law's bachelorette party in South Beach! Mel (Melinda) is marrying my brother in law and I could not be happier. I met her 2 years ago through a dinner club that I belong to and immediately knew there was something special about her. Well I introduced Mel and Patrick about a year and a half ago (my 2nd time as a matchmaker!) and after a little while they hit it off! They got engaged in April and have had such a beautiful romance.

We are kicking off her bachelorette weekend with a lingerie shower in Fort Lauderdale on Friday night.

I am going to wear this dress by Lela Rose,
(thank goodness for Rent the Runway! i can wear this dress for a fraction of the price!)

attempt to make these super cute pink whoopie pies,

and give Mel one of these handmade cards with her present (tutorials to come!)

On Saturday we are leaving Fort Lauderdale early in the morning and heading to the Gansevoort hotel on South Beach where we will stay on Saturday night.

We will spend by day by the pool,

get changed into our cutest black party dresses...I am wearing this Haute Hippie dress,

have dinner at my favorite sushi restaurant Bond Street
(I came to love it in NYC, and they opened a restaurant in Miami),

and dance the night away!

Can you tell I'm excited for this fun girls weekend to celebrate the beautiful Melinda?!

I am also super excited for my first blogger meet up tonight! A group of South Florida bloggers are going out for mexican food in Boca Raton. Kara invited me to join and I am really looking forward to meeting other local girls who blog.

Finally, don't forget to join Lila Grace's first giveaway here! The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Anthropologie and a Lila Grace picture frame! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Dream Destination Wedding

I am not going to lie, I squealed with excitement when I saw that Jillian and Joelle were hosting a destination wedding blog crawl! I absolutely love destination weddings (you can see mine here) and was ecstatic to have the chance to "plan" another one, but with out any of the stress! Since this is a dream destination wedding I went a bit overboard, but we are all allowed to dream, right?

I picked the French Riviera or Cote d'Azur as my destination. After grad school I backpacked through Europe with a friend and while we were in Monaco we stumbled upon the most amazing city on a cliff called Eze that overlooks the sea. It was my inspiration for this destination wedding.

Picture Frame Makeover

One of my favorite aspects of the kitchen remodel we did last year is our stainless steel refrigerator.  I love the look and layout, but it is really hard to post anything to the front unless you find a super strong magnet. I wanted to find a cute alternative to organize things like save the dates and greeting cards so I used a basic picture frame, nails and twine to create this!

How I Made It!
1. Use a frame that is at least 8x10. I used an 11x14 frame.
2. Hammer one small nail on each long side of the frame so they are at the same height. Add as many rows of nails as desired. I did three rows.
3. Double knot twine around one nail and tightly pull across to the other corresponding nail and tie tightly. I used a drop of glue to secure the twine.

4. Hang your picture frame and clip your invitations, cards, etc.

Here are more pictures of the final product

Don't forget to join Lila Grace's first giveaway here! The winner will receive a $50 gift card to Anthropologie and a Lila Grace picture frame!

I hope you have a great Tuesday! We are starting to prepare for Hurricane Irene that may or may not hit Florida on Friday. I have never been through a hurricane before so I am kind of nervous!

This week I am linking up with:

Our First Giveaway!!

Hi girls! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was really relaxed, filled with meals with friends, church, some shopping, and crossing items off my seemingly never ending to do list :) On Friday I told you that I was looking forward to hosting a giveaway when I reached 50 followers....well we did this weekend, yay! Here are the details of the giveaway.

The winner will receive a $50 gift card to one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie!! I love everything about this store...clothes, home decor, jewelry, the list goes on.

The winner will also get a Lila Grace Frame from our new fall line that I will be launching within the next 2 weeks! This is a 4x6 black picture frame with a jade green silk flower and freshwater pearls. I love this flower because the silk actually looks like a really rich linen and has such a unique texture.

Back to School Glam!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week. I don't know about you, but this week has been absolutely packed and I am so ready for a restful weekend. I wanted to say "welcome!" to all of my new followers! I have so much fun reading your blogs and your sweet comments mean so much to me. They always put a smile on my face :) Thank you so much for following and I am really excited to host my first giveaway when I reach 50 followers!

This Friday I am joining up with {av} at Long Distance Loving for Friday's Fancies. The theme this week is Back to School. I must admit that one of my favorite things to do is back to school shopping.  When I was little I remember pining over pink trapper keepers (anyone remember them?!) and dragging my parents to the mall to buy a back to school outfit from 5-7-9! Even though I am not in school anymore I still love shopping for new fall clothes and buying school supplies for local charities during this time of year.

My look this week is a transitional outfit for fall because it's still super hot here in Florida, but the a/c is always on full blast.  I paired a long jersey knit dress with flat sandals, a leather jacket and a quilted iPad bag for a back to school glam look.

Be sure to check out Friday Fancies for all of the other awesome looks, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

What I'm Loving...For Fall

Good Morning! So I waited as long as possible to talk about my favorite season...Fall! Every time I thought about posting my fall fashion picks, I thought no, don't waste away summer. Well, my patience is totally worn out and I am officially ready for fall! I can't wait to drink pumpkin spiced lattes and wear boots over jeans or tights.

For fall I am trying to invest in really feminine neutral pieces with pops of color (mustard yellow and red are my favorite) and fun fabrics (faux fur, sequins and animal print).

The selections below are my picks for fall. I included items that won't take a major hit on your budget as well as some pieces I would buy if I had no budget :)

H&M Hat $14.95
(love the blazer too!)
H&M Blouse - $29.95

Today I am linking up with What I'm Loving Wednesday over at Jamie's blog

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Gray + Yellow + Teal

A few weeks ago I posted about a new design book that I found called The Meghan Method. It is a helpful guide to walk you through each step of the interior design process.

After reading through the Meghan Method I decided to makeover the room in my house that needs the most help, the guest bedroom. After our move it basically became a dumping ground storage room for boxes, candles, vases and other pieces that haven't found their home yet. Does anyone else have a room like that?! :)

I have gone through the most of the steps that Meghan outlines in her book and wanted to share what I have so far! I won't bore you with all the details, but here is how I started. I came up with my aspirations for our guest bedroom and then found a muse to use as my inspiration.

My muse is this fabulous Anthropologie maxi dress.  I was immediately drawn to the beautiful colors and subtle pattern. I also love the comfortable style and almost vintage look to this dress.  After selecting my muse I started identifying some of the pieces that I would like to have in our guest room, based on the aspirations that I outlined above.  I did add a minty teal to the room's color scheme because it adds a fun pop of color.

What do you think?! I am so excited to start working on the layout of the guest bedroom and repurposing some of the pieces that are already there. I will be sure to share how the makeover goes!

Color Scheme

Furniture and Accessories

Red, Two Ways

For so long I thought that red was "not my color" because I am really pale (yes I do live in Florida ha!) and honestly I have been kind of afraid to wear this popular color.  Well last Saturday I went bridesmaids dress shopping with my soon to be sister in law. I tried on a red bridesmaids dress and was surprised by how much I liked the color. Who knew that bridesmaids dresses would encourage me to try something new in fashion!?

This Friday I am linking up with {av} from long distance loving at her Friday Fancies party. The theme for this week is red!  I am loving very feminine and polished looks for fall and this red Express dress is just that. I love the accentuated waist (I recommend swapping the black belt for a leopard print) and pretty ruffle detail. Plus, it's less than $100! I picked accessories for both trendy downtown and classic uptown looks to maximize the dress.

 Dress: Express

Uptown
