{Free!} Nursery Letter Printable

Happy Friday sweet friends! I can't believe that Christmas is next week, so exciting! Since I have been on bedrest for the past few weeks I have had a lot of down time. Online shopping and HGTV have been my go to activities, ha! I also have been trying to prepare for Avery's arrival as much as possible. Her nursery will be mostly grays and pink so I wanted to add some color with fun framed prints. The first one I designed is an 8x10 letter and animal print. What do you think?!

Here is the link to an 8x10 sized PDF that you can print for your little one's nursery or even give as a gift at a shower! Please only use these prints for personal use; Using these prints for profit is prohibited.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

Random Acts of Kindness

I am not sure where to begin this post...the events of this past week in Connecticut were so tragic and horrific that words don't seem adequate.  I can't even begin to imagine how the families and friends of these children feel. One of my good friends Julie at The Happy Home Fairy wrote a beautiful letter to all the mothers who did not know that the morning they sent their little one to school on December 14th would be their last. I pray and have been praying for comfort and peace for those affected.

I love Ann Curry's idea about committing to complete random acts of kindness in honor of the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook massacre. Paying it forward and bringing joy to people's lives are real ways that we can combat the hate and trouble that can seem so pervasive at times.  I am committing to complete random acts of kindness whenever I can, it feels good to give! Some of the ways people are carrying out their random acts of kindness are:

- Paying a layaway bill at ToysRUs for a mom with five children
- Donating winter clothing at a homeless shelter
- Bringing a crossing guard a donut
- Giving a $10 gift card to the person behind them in line at Dunkin Donuts
- Leaving a letter thanking the mail man

This movement made me think of an idea that I definitely want to do at Christmas with my children when they are older. It is a RACK {Random Act of Christmas Kindness} Advent calendar from TSJ Photography. So often during the holidays it can be all about what we want rather than what others need. Each day you have an activity to complete based around an act of kindness. While I think that some of the best random acts of kindness can come from spur of the moment ideas, it is nice to add some focus around the concept of doing them daily during December. You can go here to download a RACK card and see more about this idea.

Serious Sparkle

Happy Friday everyone! Today for Friday's Fancies I put together a cute holiday look involving some sequins and sparkle! I love the nude color of this Equipment top mixed with the platinum glitter pumps! This look is not exactly bump friendly for where I am in my pregnancy, but definitely a look I would love to sport after baby! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! xoxo Meggan

Nursery Inspiration {Vintage Glam}

Picking out furniture for Avery's nursery has been so much fun! I have always dreamed about what my baby's nursery would look like and having it all come together is amazing!

I am going for a very feminine and vintage look using pink and gray. I love the "old" feeling mixed some glam/bling! Also, I am planning on using some vintage style hot air balloons for decor accents. All of the major pieces have been ordered but they won't arrive until early January; so hard to wait! My glider is a piece that my mom found at a consignment shop and recovered. I will show you pictures of that piece later this week!

Here is what has inspired me so far.

{Free!} Christmas Printables!

This year I decided to design a few new prints for our house to add a little something extra to our Christmas decorations. I have always loved subway art so I created two of these prints. I also am loving the new chalkboard style prints so I designed one of those too.

I of course wanted to share these with you! The links are below, please feel free to download and print for your home. xoxo

Peanut Butter Brownie Cups

Happy Tuesday! Last night my mom made the most amazing brownies and I had to share them with you. We found the recipe in Paula Deen's cooking magazine and I was hooked at peanut butter cups and brownies...possibly the best combination ever! They were so delicious that when I asked my husband to take some with him to a guy's night with our small group he refused saying he is not sharing them with anyone else! :) Here is how you make this decadent dessert.

Start by unwrapping 18 mini peanut butter cups....I may have unwrapped a few more to eat before baking :)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the brownie batter as indicated on the box.

Line cupcake tins with 18 cupcake liners.
Add one tablespoon of brownie mix to each cupcake liner.

Here is where it gets really good! Add one peanut butter cup to each brownie cup. Cover with a bit more brownie mix so the peanut butter cup is covered.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the brownies are set.

Now it is time to make the fudge like topping! Melt one bag of peanut butter morsels and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream.

Add the peanut butter topping to each brownie.  Once set remove the brownie cupcakes and serve!

  The final product!

Ingredients
1 19.9oz box of brownie mix
18 mini peanut butter cups, unwrapped
1 10oz bag peanut butter morsels
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line 18 regular muffin cups with paper cupcake liners.

Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions.  Fill the cups with 1 tblsp brownie batter.  Press 1 peanut butter cup into the batter in each muffin cup. Cover with remaining brownie mix. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cupcakes are set.
Melt the peanut butter morsels with the heavy whipping cream until melted through. Cover cooked brownies with peanut butter mixture and let set. Remove from muffin tins and store in air tight container.

Pink & Gray Baby Shower

A few months ago, I helped my mother in law to plan an incredible shower for my sister in law, Michael Marie. She is due in just a few days now with my niece. I am so excited that Avery will have an older cousin who is so close in age!

We kept the shower inspiration consistent with her nursery...pink and gray, chevron patterns and giraffes. That way Michael was able to use a lot of the shower decor in the nursery as well.

This post is very picture heavy but I hope you enjoy!

Guests brought books instead of cards to start the baby's nursery!

I was in charge of the dessert bar, which was so much fun to design!

Our good friend Stacy made the cake pops, she is so talented!

All of the moms to be at the shower. My sister in law is in the middle and I am to her left (was 12 weeks!)

My MIL Terri and my other sister in law Mel!
